| 1967 | National Taiwan University (NTU) offered the first physical therapy education program in Taiwan through the Division of Physical Therapy of the School of Medical Technology. |
| 1970 | The Division of Physical Therapy, School of Rehabilitation Medicine was formally established at NTU and was the pioneer of PT education at the bachelor level in Taiwan. Graduates of this Division received BS degree in PT. |
| 1992 | The Division of Physical Therapy of the School of Rehabilitation Medicine was upgraded to the School of Physical Therapy, the first independent PT school in Taiwan. Graduates of this School received BS degree in PT. |
| 1995 | The Legislation Yuan of Taiwan passed the Physical Therapy Act |
| 1997 | The School launched the first Master of Science (MS) program of Physical Therapy in Taiwan. The School of Physical Therapy changed its name to the School and Graduate Institute of Physical Therapy. |
| 1999 | The School held the first National Physical Therapy Education Conference in Taiwan. |
| 2001 | The School held the first National Clinical Physical Therapy Education Conference in Taiwan and launched the “Digital Museum of Physical Therapy” on the web. |
| 2004 | The School launched the first Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physical Therapy program in Taiwan. |
| 2007 | The School established the Geriatrics and Long-term Care certificate program. |
| 2008 | National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH) established the first independent PT clinic at the medical center level in Taiwan- the Physical Therapy Center. The Physical Therapy Center receives direct referrals from other medical professionals for patient care and offers PT internship as well as post-graduate residency training programs. |
| 2013 | The school launched the first advanced doctor of PT (DPT) program in Taiwan as preceding step to the future entry-level DPT program. |
