Master Clinician Lecture Series & Workshop –PT from US

(World Confederation for Physical Therapy, WCPT)對於物理治療師基本專業水準之政策宣言。 Stephen Reischl及Dr.

Kornelia Kulig, PhD, PT, FAPTA, FAAOMP (Hon)

Dr. Kornelia Kulig is a Professor and Co-Director of the Jacquelin Perry Musculoskeletal Biomechanics Research Laboratory at the University of Southern California.  Her research is clinically motivated, theoretically informed and experimentally tested. She studies human movement and postural control in conditions of seemingly musculoskeletal origin, characterized by frequent recurrence of symptoms. In that clinical model, she studies peripheral and central adaptations to pathology, with the aim to enhance the exploration of the impact of these conditions on locomotion and other functional activities.  Taken together, her laboratory aims to refine and continue to test the proposed framework for intervention and prevention of recurrent pain in the low back region and in lower extremity tendons.  She is one of the eight Founding Members of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists.  Her contributions to the physical therapy profession were acknowledged by multiple prestigious awards such as the Hislop Award for Outstanding Contribution to Professional Literature, the 18th Maley Lectureship and the 16th Noland Lectureship of the Physical Therapy Association.

Beth Fisher PT PhD, FAPTA

Dr. Beth Fischer is a Professor of Clinical Physical Therapy in the Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy at the University of Southern California. She holds a joint appointment in the Department of Neurology, Keck School of medicine at USC. Dr. Fisher is the director of the Neuroplasticity and Imaging Laboratory primarily using Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to investigate brain-behavior relationships during motor skill learning and motor control in both non-disabled individuals and individuals with neurologic disorders. She previously worked at Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center on the Adult Neurology and Brain Injury Services and continues to consult and teach nationally and internationally on current concepts for the treatment of adults with neurological disorders.  During her years as a clinician and rehabilitation specialist, it was her greatest ambition to be a part of developing physical therapy interventions that would maximize neural and behavioral recovery in individuals suffering from pathological conditions affecting the nervous system. Towards this goal she is currently studying the effects of aerobic exercise compared to skill training on functional recovery and brain repair in Parkinson’s disease using fMRI as a marker of neuroplasticity.  Additionally, she is studying brain changes using TMS in individuals with stroke; healthy individuals learning complex motor skills and individuals undergoing ankle manipulation as part of a physical therapy program for ankle sprain. In 2014, Dr. Fisher became a Catherine Worthingham Fellow of the American Physical Therapy Association.  The FAPTA designation is the highest honor among APTA’s membership categories and signifies attainment of the topmost level of professional excellence.
